This is the fourth book in Perfectly Imperfect mafia series. Each book in this series features a different couple and can be read as a standalone, but for maximum enjoyment, follow the recommended reading order.
My Summary of the Story:
Isabella Agostini is the Don of the Chicago Cosa Nostra’s granddaughter, she knew from a young age that she was destined to be married to one of the Capo. She fell in love with Luca Rossi when he saved her from drowning, though he is a capo, he’s so much older than her. Her childhood crush turned into an obsession over the years, even after Luca married someone else and had a daughter. When her grandpa’s condition worsens, he plans to hand over his position to Luca. He decides that Luca is a better replacement than his underboss Lorenzo. To make sure the takeover goes smoothly, he arranges for Luca’s wife’s affair to be discovered, so Luca would divorce his wife and marry Isabella. Luca is horrified to be marrying Isabella, as he thinks she’s way too young for him and he knows her from her adolescence. Isabella is over the moon with this arrangement, just to be disappointed to see that Luca doesn’t want to have anything to do with her until she’s at least turned 21, can he avoid her temptation that long….?
My Thoughts:
Oh wow, I feel like the steaminess of this book just jumped from level 1 to level 5, I mean, just check my list of kinks below, you can see Luca and Isa are kinky AF. It may be not for everyone, even some of the kinks are a bit too much for me, but I came to enjoy it a little bit more on my second read. So the imperfection of this book is Luca’s amnesia and his kinks? 😂 There are so many spicy scenes in this book, I lost count, these 2 are so horny for each other it’s insane. On my first read, I found that Luca’s hesitancy to have sex with Isa is so annoying, but then I think about it, though the age gap seems normal for their kind, he has known Isa since she was little. And from Isa’s recollection, they did have a close relationship when she was a child, and now he has a daughter himself, he must felt sick to get it on with someone whom he probably knows since she’s still in her diapers. And also, we learn later on that he is very controlling in the bedroom, and fear that his kink will scare her.
I love Isa’s character, she’s very smart and cunning even when she’s still that young. The way she’s pining for Luca is heartbreaking, She tries so hard to act indifferent towards him, so he won’t find out about her long-time time crush. She’s bold enough to keep seducing him until he gives up, it was a slow burn but once they get going it’s full speed hony boat ahead. As for Luca, I don’t like him pre-amnesia, but him after? Hot, Horny, Controlling, Kinky, EVERYTHING🥵 He’s so different now that he doesn’t remember Isa and sees her as a woman, his wife, and he doesn’t have to restrain himself anymore.
This book doesn’t really have much at stake, though it was written as it has, I don’t feel it while I’m reading it. There’s no third-act break-up which I love, and the issue was solved smoothly at the end. Basically after 50% of the book, they are just busy humping each other to their happily ever after. I did have some issues with some of the steamy scenes, that’s why I can’t give it a full 5 stars. Particularly the one where Luca watches her masturbate and the p*ssy plug usage, and c*ckwarming, it’s just not for me, but if you like it, then enjoy! I still love this book and enjoy it so much on my second read.
